Afternoon tea dates back to the early 19th century, when Anna, the Duchess of Bedford, introduced a light meal between lunch and dinner. What began as a simple tray of tea, sandwiches, and sweet treats soon became a cherished social ritual, an elegant occasion to gather, unwind, and indulge.
